J. S. Bach's Coffee Cantata

J. S. Bach's Coffee Cantata (Peasant Cantata)
''Schweigt stille, plaudert nicht'' BWV 211 - Final Chorus
Libretto by Christian Friedrich Henrici

This cantata, a short musical drama, was composed for performance by Bach's Collegium at Zimmerman's Coffee House, Leipzig, between 1732 & 1734. It is now brought to you by Café Zimmerman (Instrumental Ensemble, which is composed of six musicians - five bow instruments and a harpsichord).

Apparently Bach's love for coffee was well-known. It's reported that two of his prized possessions were two silver coffeepots.

It Started Out Looking For a Cup of Coffee in Hawaii

Dec 18, How to Grow a Pineapple Indoors: My First Attempt Begins

Well, here is the lucky pineapple that will (hopefully) be turning into a lovely house-pineapple plant! When I'm missing Maui, I'm always looking for a way to bring a bit of Hawaii into my home. So when I heard that you can actually grow a pineapple plant indoors, I thought, "Why not?" In addition to being an interesting challenge for myself, my 3 year old is very excited about it too. I didn't want to disappoint him if this takes a long time to produce an edible fruit, so I told them that if we're lucky, our pineapple plant will make a pineapple by the time he's 7 years old. He said he's fine with that. :) There's so much that could go wrong though... The plant could rot... The plant might NOT rot, but my dog might knock it over and kill it... or maybe my almost-2-year-old will knock it over... The plant might get buggy... I might over-water it and kill it... Oh my! Cross your fingers for me guys! I do NOT have a good track record with house plants...
