March 14, 2011 - Whale-watching station is open at West Maui's Papawai Point from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. To get there, drive from Maalaea Harbout northwest on the Honoapiilani Highway (Route 30) for about 3 miles - you should see a turn off for Papawai Point. March 15, 2011 Ultimate Whale Watch (Link will open in new window.) March 15 and 17, 2011: Whale Information and Viewing Station is open from 8 a.m. until noon. You'll find this free information station on the oceanfront path in front of the Wailea Beach Marriott. March 17, 2011: Making Waves Lecture Series: "On the Trail of the Whale in Australia." This talk is free to all and takes place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m at the Pacific Whale Foundation's Discovery Center, located at the Harbor Shops at Ma'alaea.
